Most people who know me would not describe me as "conservative." Something about ice cream, though, needles my Glenn Beck instincts and brings out the reactionary Tea Party member in me.
Foie gras ice cream, for example, is innovative. But it does not sound delicious. Rather, it sounds heinous. Likewise the caviar flavor. Has anyone tried these flavors? You can get them in different restaurants and boutiques around
France. Are they any good? Prove me wrong, please. Normally I'm an open-minded person.

And not just in France! Humphrey Slocombe, in San Francisco's Mission district, has gotten some raised eyebrows for flavors that include yes, foie grass, and also ones such as "government cheese", peanut butter curry (actually I kinda liked that one) and salt&pepper. Makes you wonder if the owner is not channeling his inner willy Wonka (making those little candies with a bazillion flavors that made Violet turn into a blueberry) more than trying to make tasty ice-cream?? Though you gotta love a place that has a flavor entitled, "I have a Dreamsicle".
See our delicious recipe for tabbouleh sorbet by Karim Haidar in the Ethnic Paris Cookbook!
Olivia, send it to me! Prove me wrong!
